Q. Do you like your job?

Unfortunately, I would say, No. In fact, my job is to serve people and the country. I struggled to get my job and made it. Not after long, I realized I misunderstood my job. I thought my job would give me a life-work balance and serving citizens and the country would be very honorable and loyal to me. And I believed that no matter how low I'm paid, it would benefit me as a woman. Because I can work until when I want to work. That's why many students dreamed of being public servants. So, I did as well. But, the thing is, as soon as the started my work, I had to overwork every day and was paid less beyond my imagination. And also, I suffered from countless citizen complaints all the time. Plus, when emergencies such as heavy rain, earthquake, and typhoons occur, I always have to head for my company. The worst of all is I have to leave my little son to protect other people. It sounds selfish, but it is true. I used to work very hard and put priority on my work over my son. However, after the serious earthquake in Korea in the past, I saw my son scared of earthquakes. I was shocked by the fact that he was alone at home. After that happened, I decided to file a vacation leave and take off work. I know no one is satisfied with their job. This is going too far. Now I think it is time to consider whether I'm going to keep going my job or not.
