A : 그럼 다니엘은 언제 돌아와 일하나요?

B : 원래는 휴가가 3일이었는데, 그녀가 추가로 2일을 더 신청해서 회사로부터 허가를 받았어요.

A : 3일은 어떻게 얻은 거에요?

B : 아, 그냥 사용하지 않은 휴가였어요.

 

A : So whhen is Danielle coming back to work?

B : She was automatically allowed three days, but the company approved her request for two more days. 

A : How did she merit the three days?

B : Well, that was just unused vacation time. 

 

A : 새로운 소프트웨어를 시험해 볼 준비가 되었습니다. 

B : 좋아요. 우리는 곧 이것을 시장에 출시하게 되요. 어떻게 하면 새로운 소프트웨어의 판매를 촉진시킬 수 있을까요? 판매를 늘려야 해요.

A : 다른 회사에서 생산되는 소프트웨어에 대한 의견을 수집하는 것도 좋을 것 같습니다. 그런 식으로 우리 소프트웨어의 장점을 강조하는 것이죠. 

B : 아, 그거 좋은 생각이네요. 진행해주시겠어요?

 

A : We're ready to begin the new software. 

B : Good. We've got to put it out on the market soon. How can I promote the new software? We need to increase sales. 

A : It might be a good idea to collect feedback on software being produced by other companies. That way, we can play up the strengths of our own software. 

B : Oh, that sounds good. Get on it, will you?

 

A : 조사를 혼자 할 수 있겠어요?

B : 아무래도 도움이 필요할 것 같습니다. 수집해야 할 자료가 많거든요.

A : 좋아요. 그렇다면 초과근무가 가능한 사람이 누구인지를 알아보세요.

B : 제 생각에는 보조자 한 명의 도움이면 초과근무 없이도 할 수 있을 것 같습니다.

 

A : Do you think you can do the research alone?

B : I think I might need some help. That's a lot of data to collect. 

A : Okay, then find out who's available for overtime. 

B : I think that with the help of an assistant, I can manage the work without doing overtime.

 

A : 대학교를 방문해서 대학생들이 우리 소프트웨어에 대해 어떻게 생각하는지 알아보는 것이 도움이 될 것 같아요.

B : 네, 안될 게 뭐 있겠어요? 그렇다면 우리가 만드는 유형의 소프트웨어에 관심있는 학생들과 대학교에서 자리를 마련해 봅시다.

A : 날짜는 다음 몇 주 동안으로 잡을 수 있을 듯 합니다. 그리고 새로운 소프트웨어의 이름은 대학생들에게 짓게 하는 것이 가장 좋을 것 같습니다. 

B : 멋진 아이디어네요.

 

A : I think it might help if we visit some universities to check out what the students think of the software.  

B : Yes, why not? Let's set up meetings at universities with students interested in the type of software we make. 

A : I can schedule those meetings for the next few weeks. And it might be best to let the students name the new software.

B : What a marvelous idea. 

 

A : 보도자료는 완성되었나요? 당신이 보도자료를 오늘 제게 줄 거라고 Mrs. Rodriguez가 말씀하셨거든요.

B : 맙소사. 아직 시작도 못했어요. 하루 종일 전화하느라 바빴거든요.

A : 무엇에 대한 보도자료인데요?

B : 모든 주요 일간 신문사들을 통해 우리의 새로운 소프트웨어가 몇 주 후에 출시될 거라는 걸 보도하려고요.

 

A : Are you finished with that press release? Mrs.Rodringuez said you'd give it to me today. 

B : Oh boy, I haven't even started. I've been on the phone the whole day. 

A : Well. What's the press release for?

B : We are announcing through all the major news dailies that our new software will hit the shelves in a few weeks.

B : I will help out as soon as I finish this report. 

A : Is that the study on similar software being producted by other companies? 

B : Yes, and I'm nearly done with it.
