Q. What did you spend your high school?

I only studied. The Korean education system is very competitive. All I remember from my high school is studying. There has been a very special exam to enter the university once a year. It is called "수능" . I think it is crazy. We have only one shot a year to join the university. If I don't feel well that day, I would fail it and  have to wait another year.  

 

Q. If your child wouldn't like to go to school, what are you going to do or say to him?

There must be a reason why my son feels that way. I'm not going to be mad at my son and ask him how come my son doesn't want to go to school. I will ask him if there has been some bullying. If so, I will drop him out.  Actually, I was an opponent of dropping out of school. I thought whatever it happens, student ought to graduate school. But, my mind has changed. I don't believe in the Korean educational system anymore. I think the current schools exist only for rich people. Korean system is too test-driven / test-oriented. I'm sure only students from rich families can afford better education required by schools. There's inequality between the rich and middle class families. In Korea, most education and career opportunities depend on which upper secondary school and college or university students attend and admissions decisions are still based largely on test scores. I'm not going to take the Korean system. I take a western-approach to education. There are many methods that we can make money and succeed. Such as developing application, launching start-up, investing in finances, blogging, writing and so on. I won't impose a stressful education on him.
