아버지가 지금 일을 그만두고 다른 직종으로 전환한다고 말씀하신 지 이게 거의 2년이 되어가요. 지금 위치까지 오기 위해 공을 많이 들인 것은 사실이에요. 그래서 큰 결정이었고, 위험부담이 없는 것도 아니에요. 게다가 어머니는 자꾸 그런 얘기를 해요. 그것이 우리한테 미칠 영향도 생각하셔야 한다고요. 물론 그것도 중요하죠. 근데 아버지가 우리를 위해 평생 희생해야 한다고 누가 그래요? 가족을 먹여 살려야 하는 책임이 있긴 하지만 이미 지금까지 충분히 하셨고, 이제는 위험하더라도 다른 것을 해볼 자격이 있으시다고 생각해요. 그리고 비록 일이 잘 풀리지 않을 수도 있어도 가족이 그것을 지지할 준비가 되어있어야 해요. 우리가 최소한 그 정도는 해 드려야 한다고 봐요. 

 

For almost 2 years now, my father has been talking about leaving his job and pursuing a different career. It's true he has put in a lot of effort to get to where he is now. So, it's a huge decision and it's certainly not without its risks and my mom keeps saying that he need to think about how it could affect us and sure that's important, too. But then who says that we deserve his endless sacrifice? I mean, as much as he's responsible for providing for the family. I think he has done more than enough all these days and he deserves to take a chance at something different and even though things might not go well, the rest of the family should be willing to support that. I think that's the least we can do.
